This is complete.

The forums have undergone a major upgrade.

Not all of the functionality of the old forum will be the same. There are new things and also some things missing. The forums will undergo more changes until the new stuff is all running smoothly.

How do you mean exactly?

Does doing a "CTRL -" sort it out?

Hi Bubba

Just had a quick look on here, noticed that the new board looks nice and clear to me so I'm happy with it.  Good stuff.  The only thing that was really noticeable (so far) was when you have child boards (in Shooting the Shit for example) on the main screen it does not appear the same size as the others (Shooting the shit box is smaller than all without child boards).

If you want me to I can mail a screen shot to you?  Probably best before I confuse you as it's quite hard to explain?  (Box that sub-board title goes in is a certain size right...  If with child board, the child board bit takes up half the box and leaves the other half for Shooting the Shit title on the main page?)

Cheers mate - could you post a screenshot somewhere?

Have you tried doing a forced refresh (ctrl +F5) to see if that resets anything?

Just tried doing a forced refresh, no change there...

Rather then show the images (they're a bit big) I've put them as links instead.

Gotta get off now, hope them images help.  The later two are what someone referred to earlier as big links I think.  The other thing to note is that people's signatures aren't small like they used to be before but I think we can change them ourselves if that is what the new forum offers instead.

Ta Bubba.

EDIT:  Just to clarify, I'n raising this point as I think the older board looked better on the front as the child boards only took up 1/3rd or less of a box but now takes up 1/2 and makes it look a bit untidy?  To save any confusion!

I'm wondering if this an IE thing because from those screens it looks pretty similar to what I'm used to in FF  :-\

When 2.0 final is released there is a whole new theme which looks really nice. This upgrade is to a Release Candidate version so the final look 'n feel isn't complete yet. You can see the current progress on the new theme here as that site is running the latest shit.

I've only done this upgrade as the 2.0 final is taking ages and the RCs are now considered stable enough to use live. There's a lot of performance/security/moderation fixes that I wanted to have.

Ah, in which case ignore my points above - a bit too picky for my liking (all based on my thinking this was the new forum as you mentioned before).

I will go and make the most of this weather now!

Ta.

Bubba I've noticed the blue background image behind logout isn't appearing. It's also missing behind a couple of the other options.
Off the top of my head:
Mark all as read
Print

I don't care but just though I'd let you know.
Cheers

They all work fine for me.

The main thing is font sizes seem to have become a bit variable, but that's a minor thing.

EDIT:  Just realised this is in bouldering.  Could a mod move it intoSite notices and updates please

(all based on my thinking this was the new forum as you mentioned before).
It sort of is but I reckon the final version won't be released for a good six months yet -  I've just got fed up with waiting for the final and it was a bit of a liability running an old version of the software for security reasons.

Have you tried ye old "CTRL F5" I had this to begin but a force refresh sorted it out.

If you want a current snapshot of the new theme as it will appear when the final SMF 2.0 is released, check out the SMF forums which are running the latest version.

Video embedding seems to have died though.
The new version looks smoother, if much the same basis.

Liking the addition of OpenID.

Not at home, but on FF-2.0.0.16 under windoze at the moment and the "Show unread posts since last visit" and "Show new replies to your posts" at the top aren't clickable at the moment (mouse doesn't change to hand when passed over).

No problems here (Windows + FF3.5.2) - is it a FF thing?

Only problem that I can see since the upgrade is the signature space seems to have increased massively.

Most likely down to the old version in use here.

Everything seems OK to me, but I miss the alt text that showed the first couple of lines of a post.

It works on on the "unread posts" screen but not otherwise. Needs fixing, cheers.
