Postal Voting
May 29, 2009, 10:50:35 am
Cant be in my constituencies on voting day so I just got round to filling in my postal vote.

First problem is that the ballot paper is WIDER than the hole in Envelope A and will therefore not fit in. It's a choice of either folding the ballot or removing some of the glue from the envelope. I have opted for the former but know that others have had a go at altering their envelope.

Secondly the envelope glue that you are supposed to use to seal Envelope A is completely absent. There is no way to seal Envelope A without selotape or pritt stick etc. I posses neither.  :wall:

This is before I've even tried to get Envelope A into Envelope B and talked about the other myriad problems with postal voting which I'm sure Sloper would love to tell us about.

Who do I complain to? Is it any wonder people don't vote?

Ta bud.

This is why I've folded it. I figured that seeing as it already had folds in then this wouldn't be a problem. On other forums people have commented that they thought the computer would not be able to read a folded ballot and so started peeling at the glue.

I'd imagine if a vote can't be read automatically the procedure is to read it manually as it would be unjustifiable to discard votes on this basis (unless of course there are clear instructions not to fold the ballot paper, but then the issuers will have invalidated this already so it would be contradictory to then tell voters not to fold it).

I trust you wrote " none of these thieving fuckers are worthy of my vote" on the ballot paper before you sealed the envelope.
