If he got back on and finished it, how's that not on sight? I thought all that redpoint shit was reserved for sport climbs. He could have come down and said he'd done it anyway. Well technically speaking it isn't really a full "onsight" and I think it would be wrong to claim it.

What it is though is an "awesome fucking achievement" and I don't think anybody has doubted that. This is an article about an inspiring ascent, not about a "failed" onsight.
