Off to Font next week and will need to check my email regularly for work (or bleau.info..)

Can anyone recommend any Wifi hotspots/internet cafes in the area?

Milly way would be best as we're staying in Maisse so will be a fair way from Fontainbleau itself

McDonalds often have free Wifi, not sure about the one at Carrefoure though.

If you're phone supports it just scan for an open wireless network when you're in a town.

Alternatively check out the European WAR driving forums at netsumbler.org.

In particular wigle.net looks quite useful (and was found with some savvy     )

Actually forget wigle.net map UI is wank, but there will be others out there no doubt that overlay the data on google maps.  I've an app for my N95 that logs GPS locations of Wifi networks that it can detect along with the security levels/signal strength

There is (or was last time I went) an internet cafe on Rue Ferrare opposite the Ibis hotel.
No idea what it's like though.

You can get it in the Large Carrefour around the fountain in the shopping precinct near the restaurants and bars....

If your in the big gite in maisse then the supermarket is only a short walk up the road....why waste valuable climbing time wandering round a massive shop......mind you I think I must have spent weeks of my life in that shop staring at the fish counter.....

Thanks for the wifi links. I agree that fish counter is like a black hole..  tend to shop at the local supermarket, but going with numerous families/bambinos so expect they'll want to goto carrefour
