This was my first BMX, http://pages.ebay.co.uk/viewitem/viewitem_popup.html?domain=ebay.co.uk, the Super Burner with Tuff 2s mags..my 'Tomohawk' preceeded that with a central gear stick if my memory serves me correctly, fuckin leathal with a the front wheel smaller than the back, slghtly  :off: i know but i'm now strolling hazily down memory lane..planks of wood propped up on bricks.....cardboard fixed with a clothes peg against the spokes...i'll stop now.

Any Chopper, Tomahawk, Chipper were the dogs at wheelies - any punter could do them with flare on those things! Just lay back on the bench seat and your away!

those Mongoose bikes are beautiful machines. Nobody ever had one in our street though, it was Raleigh burners and Grifters all the way.
BMX Bandits, what a film eh? http://www.fast-rewind.com/bmxbandits.htm ,genius.

My sisters Burner with Mag wheels sat in my Dads garage for about 15 years, recently he was about to take it to the tip but he ebay'd it instead and got £100+ for it, not bad, wasn't in great nick but all original.

Diamond Back Viper. That takes me back too.
I remember a BMX Action photo shoot with Harry Leary the Diamond Back racer styling it up on some dirt jump place in California c.1985.
The photography was amazing, beautifully lit by sunset. You have to hand it to action sports photographers shooting on film, eh?
I used to compete (unsucessfully) at Freestyle when I was about 13 or so- back then if you could do a boomerang or a cherry picker you were pretty shit hot.
It just shows you how far things have come- 900s on half pipes, tailwhip airs etc etc. Mind blowing!

Know exactly what you mean. I found this earlier - how tame does it all looks now, but at the time it was  :jaw:
