Dry on Saturday?
October 09, 2008, 10:38:47 am
Got a full day pass, a rare and wonderous thing, for Saturday. But the weather is looking a tad damp, don't think it's going to be full on downpour, but looks to be a general showers/drizzle shnizzle bizzle. So where will be dry? My list of potential areas is:
Lakes - I assume if anywhere is going to be wet here will be
South Lakes - not another red wall session....
Lancs - Hmmmmm.....
Yorkshire - Almscliff dries quickly but does anything stay dry in the rain?
Wales - never been, does anywhere (quite fancy getting spanked at the cave?) stay dry in the rain
Peak - Do Rubicon and Raven Tor stay dry in the rain?

With the current forecast there's every chance that the mighty 'cliff will not get any rain at all after about 8 or 9 - light showers normally pass down the valley and don't actually touch the crag.

Stuff that stays dry in the rain:
- Virgin Front face
- Demon Wall Roof (for showers)
- Jess's Roof (top holds may get wet dependant on wind direction)
- Underhand (jughaul finish may get wet)

boobicon and shaven-haven-tor stay dry in the rain (unless theres severe run-off) assuming they're not seeping (tor) or flooded ('con). check out the dem threads an' ting.

Unless theres a bad wind direction, stuff from Great Western to the stone wall can stay dry too, if it isn't too wet in the first place. Plus it's all a bit more vertical than the stuff you listed.
