furniture wanted

Not by me, by St Vincent de Paul furniture store in Sheffield.

They distribute furniture and essential household goods to vulnerable people setting up home. While there is a system for grants and budgeting loans for this sort of thing, many people do not qualify. More importantly, there is a significant delay in getting access to such funds, even if the person is the deserving victim of circumstance. St Vincent's store is often able to provide the basics of a bed and cooking utensils and where possible other furniture. This makes a huge difference to people moving from sleeping rough to their own tenancy - a bare flat with nothing in it can freak some people out and make them feel more lonely than when they were on the streets.

I won't go on about it, but I can't think of a more worthy recipient of any furniture, cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, bedding, curtains etc that you don't need.

They provide a great service for the people of Sheffield.

They are down on Queens Road underneath St Wilfred's centre (number 524) tel 114 250 0707.

They can even arrange to collect large items from you.

They also accept financial donations. This goes towards providing basic electic items (new) like kettles and 2 ring hobs.

Cheers

(I don't work for them)
