Sounds OK, if you want all the extra stuff. 350D bodies plus the 18-55 kit lens go for about £230-£300.
Check http://www.lcegroup.co.uk (http://www.lcegroup.co.uk) for a good idea of second hand prices.

I would strongly recommend you to try and get a cheap 400D. The 350D has a much smaller screen and no sensor cleaner. Now the 450D is out you should be able to pick up a 400D for a bargain. Try the Ebay Canon outlet, nothing on there currently but they are usually pretty active. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Canon-Outlet
Only the flash and bag are really worth much in that kit. You wouldn't buy that lens as a second zoom, sounds like an old one that came bundled with a 35mm film body that they have lying around.

Most of the stuff on there is only of use if you need it? Like Obi says, the lens seems an odd addition, and I'm not sure you would use that flash that much. Likewise the rucksack, as I expect you will usually have another pack with you, and a decent holster case may be of more use.

The going rate for a 400D kit on the Canon outlet is around £290, Jessogs will sell you one for £350 after cashback

Don't be too put off by the 'refurb' tag on the outlet, all the stuff I've had from there has been as good as new.

and if you're lucky they'll send you a 1DsIII by mistake.

cheers for the advice. been a while since I looked and they were much more expensive before.
checked out the extras and i think it would end up in spending more on a decent lens.
ah well....
