Title: Duffy? Am I getting old?
Post by: i.munro on March 17, 2008, 07:58:02 pm: I can't stop listening to this but it seems to be selling bucketloads. Last time I liked something this popular was ABBA in the 70's. I'm worried I may be losing it.

Any thoughts?

I think if the single doesn't appeal then you can safely avoid the album.

On the 60s thing, what ever happened to that well-known god of hellfire, Arthur Brown? Surely a legend!

No I don't, but my Grandma lives five minutes walk from the cave and I have a generally quiet disposition.

Thanks, I remember listening to my dad's Arthur Brown album donkeys ago and thinking it was pretty bonkers, but in a very cool way....nice to know you're never to old to set your head alight either! heard he'd joined a church and works a preacher these days, so guess this is the appropriate smiley :devangel:

Just been listening to the duffy album, very moreish...'fraid shirley bassey is before my time

Warwick Avenue is the standout for me... She's got a great voice that would be best served on something a bit more adventurous.

While I would disagree about the standout track that just about matches my opinion.
