Title: Inertia Reel Traverse - FLASHED
Post by: unclesomebody on December 19, 2007, 04:10:39 pm
Garth Miller  (http://web.8a.nu/(n3xh0d55wekni255a3ouj455)/scorecard/AscentList.aspx?UserId=4373&AscentType=1&AscentClass=0&AscentListTimeInterval=1&AscentListViewType=0)has flashed Inertia Reel Traverse at the roaches. I think this is a rather noteworthy effort, and amusingly he thought it soft. I wonder what those western grit boys will make of this?

Is this the hardest problem flashed in the UK?

Fucking beast! He was in awesome walls the other day, despite my best efforts to point him to a dusty cellar, I'm glad he capitalised on good conditions. Wow.

Proof, if proof were needed (and it would appear it were) that conditions have been EXCEPTIONAL!

It was better yesterday than the weekend

Plus, I bet he felt the holds first, surely the ab-inspected equivalent  ::)

Unreal - how hard a flash?  Hey Garth, if you are reading this, send a text to Conrad:  he understands bouldering grades now (no, really, he does!).

p.s. i tried the licking fingers thing today and managed 2 of my hardest problems yet so it's now gonna become a ritual tactic..

Also onsighted a 7c+ - not too many there - Mushin? And if that was an onsight who was dishing out the beta on Inertia? Is he around for a bit, be good to see him in action...

I imagine that he's claimed the flash as he could have checked all the holds before an attempt?

last time he was over i remember hearing that his missus has family in Liverpool? (i think). Hence why he was in wales loads. So he's probably over for the holiday season. I doubt this will be the last we hear from him!

Probably trying escape the Australian summer for some cooler temps, and less rain if things carry on the way they are. Good on him - Garth's a beast and one of the nicest guys around.

These boys climb on 1st class sandstone in the worst conditions everyday.  Get them to grit in the best and something good is bound to happen.

Great effort.  One of the better traverses in Briain.  Aesthetically speaking.

Conditions the last two days should have been better than before, because its warmed up to the optimal 4 degrees above freezing. I bet Garth still licked his fingers first. If he hasn't learnt that trick yet, watch out for some big numbers!

I was up there on Monday Wednesday afternoon, it was windy as fook even on't lower tier and vey vey cold.

And I even managed Teck Crack Direct. Didn't flash it though  ???

Heinous waddage for IRT, it looks, as the yoof of today would say, "sick".

One presumes he'd have carefully felt the holds but not pulled on.

I heard from the elf last night - there's going to be some inspection of all things Mr Gaskins.

A tour de bonce if you will.

JONATHON!!!!!

Get him in touch with Greg, he should know the dryness situation of Gaskins shit. My guess - Pil Box, Shadowplay, Isla d'Encanta, Il Pirata, maybe Walk Away - dry. Woodwell stuff, Stam+PUTP - soaked. So plenty to go at. Go on Garth!

Miller is regarded as a man with strong fingers so it would be ineteresting to see how he'd fair on those problems.

But how strong is his stomach? Surely not 'walking away' is the crux on these?

As long as he isn't too pumped from all the insect bumming he may be OK.
