thinking about buying some ipod speakers (the ones where the ipod sits in a nice cradle), are any of them any good? £80-150 or so, is the sound as tinny as they look? buying them for trips away where the separates don't travel too well..
any advice would be great.

Check out the reviews on The Register hardware section for a starter - http://www.reghardware.co.uk/reviews/ipod/ - the link lists all things iPod but it does include the cradle/speaker things that you are looking for.

We are both quite keen hi-fi fans and we were both quite sceptical that something so small could produce any decent sound at all, but when we plugged it in we were very impressed with the sound. There was even some bass. I think they used the base somehow to create some bass. Any how, now these have been superceded by these

which have mixed reviews. They also do iPod specific ones that include a dock. Definitely listen to one in a shop, don't expect amazing sound but you might just be surprised.
