It appears Michael Reardon has slipped off the top of a cliff in Ireland and as yet has not been found despite a considerable search last evening.

Well, it doesn't look like he's coming back.
RIP - what a horrible way to go :(

A parachute not opening, thats the way to go. Slipping off the top of a crag certianly aint. This is exactly why places like lundy used to shit me up.
shame.
-
apparently he didn't slip off the top of the crag.got washed away by a wave
-
Sorry to be pedantic, I think he was washed off a tidal ledge by a large wave. Either way, not a nice thing to happen.
-
He was a good duy, the real thing. I spent two evenings climbing with him 2 weeks ago and he was great company and full of life. He will be sadly missed.

Exactly.

There is something sadly ironic about a guy who made his name from free soloing huge faces getting drowned at sea level.

I have added a few photos of Michael climbing in Bullock Harbour in Dublin a fortnight ago to http://www.theshortspan.com (http://www.theshortspan.com)
