Title: Hard drive question from a numpty.
Post by: Mike Tyson on July 11, 2007, 10:40:59 am
Here's the beef.

I have an 80gb hard drive on my laptop. Thing is its split into two 40gb drives, namely the C-drive and D-drive. Now my C-drive is full, so how do I use the spare 40gb in my D-drive? I only use my computer for storing music and photos etc, nothing major really. But it does run quite slowly these days and I was wondering of this was connected to the fact the C-drive is full. I get constant messages saying I'm running low on disk space, and I simply delete temporary files etc.

Can any knowledgable folks help me out?  :-\

This could be one fo the reasons why your comp is slow, it certainly isnt helping.  To free up some space why dont you move some or all of your music to the d: ? You can do this using windows explorer.  Select the folder/dir you want to move then drag it onto the d: icon.  The default action is to copy rather than move so once you are _sure_ it's on d: you can delete it from c:

hope this helps?

Cheers folks for the replies, I'll give it a blast this evening.

I could buy an external hard drive I suppose, and stop being a tight arse!
