Title: Gym Jones
Post by: Stubbs on April 11, 2007, 10:37:28 am
Have just been checking out the site for Mark Twight's gym http://www.gymjones.com/index.php  (http://www.gymjones.com/index.php) some very interesting stuff, and some very novel training techniques!  It's pretty interesting to check out the cross section of clients he has, including training the guys for 300 recently.

id defo go there for like an overall conditioning, maybe during a summer month long break from climbing, but i think for real gains training has to be more specific.

I think the level of training stuff they do it impressive, and the ideas like Breathing Ladders and really interesting but I get annoyed by the "NO COMPROMISE, INTIMIDATING WE ARE HARDCORE PROVE YOUR WORTH TRAIN HARD PUKE OR GO HOME" vibe.
Obviously I have chosen a different path: prioratising interesting job, good relationship with wife, having children etc above, or at least along side my goal of improving my climbing.. Does this make me some sort of spineless gimp? I hope not, but I feel like Mr Twight and his nutbag training buddies would feel I was an unrealised shell of a man.
