Title: fuel for the session
Post by: Nibile on February 06, 2007, 02:24:23 pm
sorry if already posted, but id like to share some advice.

ok, so its 3,30 pm here, ill be at the gym around 6,30 pm, long warm-up and pulling for 7,30 pm.
i had the chance to eat at home and i had "pasta omelette": spaghetti with pecorino cheese and small sicilian tomatoes, with two eggs, so it comes out a sort of omelette with pasta innit.

then at the gym ill have some tea with honey or alot of brown sugar, and perhaps some chocolate.
i think itll be good for training, and will let you know, even if you dont care.

what do you eat to prepare a training session?

I eat some home made thick vegetable soup with plenty of sweet potato in to thicken it up and add some carbs. A few slices of wholemeal or linseed bread complete the equation. Obviously eat this a while prior to climbing. Shall send you some over in the post if you want  ;)

Shall shortly have mashed banana and peanut butter on toast before training at about 7.30. That and coffee. Judging by recent form however, this shouldn't necessarilly be taken as a recommendation.

Yes, the look is very italian, but I would never guess from his posts. I'm glad he's found a little home on this foreign board. And that solves the harness mystery. I take it you found it on Training Tuesday? I tell ya, ya wouldn't want to go messing around on that board without a harness on.

food for a session?! ... my current routine is to rush to the wall from work (having last eaten 5 hours earlier - generally a fruit and ryvita based exercise in frugality), boulder as hard as possible for 2 hours until I feel physically unwell, drive home whilst trying not to faint at the wheel, then eat some beans on toast.  This may explain why I am very thin, always cold, and have had a blocked nose for 3 years.... but it's a hard habit to shake.

Hi Nibile, are you really an Italian?

hey, do you ask because of the tea thing? i just cannot drink more coffee than i already do!!! ;)
besides, yes i think im very italian with nice sicilian origins (could you tell?), and yes, i found a little home on this board!!!

anyway,
yesterday session was very good. food seemed to work right, even if i had the extra-motivation of being in a different gym from the usual one, so with new problems, new holds, new seeting style, and new girls to impress.
heh.
