Title: Git me a metabolism increase
Post by: Monolith on December 05, 2006, 11:06:15 pm
My search function isn't working at the moment so not sure if this has been covered.

Are there any known substances (within the confines of the English legal system preferably) that increase one's metabolism?
Of course there are, what am I on about.

Has anyone had any joy with any particular product/naturally occuring substance or foodstuff? Any light-shedding is much appreciated.

Maximuscle Thermobol

That sounds a terrifying substance! Are there any known side effects or suchlike with these type of products?

Most of these products contain caffeine and a mixture of willow(?) bark extract and green tea.  I've had positive effects from them before going on trips.  Not used them in a while (which is blatantly obvious)  They are expensive, as Paul points out, but you should only be using them for a short period of time.

Check http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/bbinfo.php?page=FatLossSupplements out for more details

Try taking the nicotina plant at regular intervals, helps reduce food craving  ;)

Drink a cup of green tea after every meal. (You'll be pissing like a racehorse!)

Exercise more. Running and cycling, not just climbing.

i would avoid anything that ends with "-bol"

jogging or cycling at around the double of your resting pulse (prolly around 120 pulses per minute) for more then 30 minutes should do the job.
also doing light weights wit lots of reps, like 4 sets of 25 moves for every muscular group. i usually do chest, shoulders, biceps and triceps as a rest day workout. you stress the muscle alot but gently, and prepare it for the hard pulling sessions, and also you dont gain wheight, get ripped and the muscles get more vascularized so more able to get oxygen for those fool enough to take on stamina routes.
sometimes i do one set for every muscle with no pause, then rest equal time, 4 times.

Sudafed, nicton and caffine together with lots of stamina training (eg rowing).

For the record I'm down to 12st 5 or thereabouts, not bad for 5' 7" with luck I'll be down to 12 st for Font at easter

BTW, use of sudafed, with nicotin (presuming chewing gum  or lozenges in big doses) is IOC totally banned...... not an issue for me though!!

(can severly increase heart muscle oxygen demand though, not to be recommended)
