I think that is VERY scary... not the climb though
-
Very good photo - he looks totally wired-in and committed.
The colours may be a bit overdone mind - he looks a bit like he's wearing lipstick.
What route is it?
-
Hairy Heart, Froggatt. Unfortunately though, he's not committed he's mucking about. The only explanation I can offer for his red lips is that he is a ginner.
-
He's mucking about? Hate to see him when he's being serious then.
-
yeah thanks :P
can't find ote back issues . . .

What's the spotter hoping to achieve (other than being 'in shot')?

This one has "it".
The best scary photos I can recall have been in the mags - Bransbubble on that E8 in Scotland, The Enigma on Knocking On Heaven's Door (that's probably the scariest I can recall?)
-
This one, alogn with Dave Simmonite's similar picture, is useful as a laxitive I find...

Are we talking scary haircuts or scary turn-ups?
-
or scary demonic eyes.
-
has any one got the picture of tetler on Knockin? I've never seen it. JB?
-
In an OTE a few years back, the one with leo, patch, and the hubers posing in front of El Capitan on the cover. Number 91 or something?

That just makes me want to remove my eyes with a soup spoon, so I never have to see something like that again.
-
Looks like he's getting a semi.

A bit small perhaps, but do a search for Alex Huber Brandler Hasse solo or something like that. Or buy issue 14 of Alpinist.
Or try to find a photo of Wolfgang Güllich solo on Separate Reality, it's in the book "High Life, Sportklettern Weltweit" by Heinz Zak and W. Güllich.

Yes please, Turkey, I'm salivating at the thought.

I don't think that helmet will save him if he falls!

this is bonkers. especially when you consider the $mites are constantly falling to pieces.
that helmet should help alex though in the event of a fall.
-
the helmet means in that in the event of a fall theres a marginally increased chance that he'll be identifiable by his dental records as his head may stay in one piece. He's thinking of the family - its a nice touch.

$mites
