Title: pimp my computer
Post by: cofe on December 06, 2005, 01:06:34 pm
don't get me wrong - my new computer is already putting the bling back in rambling. but is there any basic stuff you can do to make computers work even better? like rewarding them with chews? that kind of thing.

cheers all you big ears.

R click my computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Performance Settings.

Choose 'adjust for best performance'.  This turns various windows and menu effects that can slow your computer down.  This is for win2000 and XP.

a good tip i've picked up from people at work is when you're waiting for the computer to do/process something its a good idea to rapidly move the mouse from side to side, or repeatedly tap the spacebar. This apparently makes it work faster.
