Does anyone know where the official finish to this problem is? i was trying to get all the way to the right arete but the last move gets really akward as the lip is only about 1ft off the ground. It seemed more logical to rock onto the slab a bit further left (1m). ace problem though.
anyone done it who can give me some tips?
thanks,
dan

On the first ascent Iain did it to the rockover you mention.
I don't have any useful tips, sorry. But I can tell you that a Pea Crab is a crab, roughly the size of a pea, which lives a parasitic existence inside the shell of a mussel

no shit

Come now, these things aren't always implicit. A House Martin being considerably smaller than your average semi.
-
Point taken, but don't call me Martin.

True, and giant spider crabs are considerably bigger than any spider, in spite of their name (http://www.photovault.com/Link/Animals/Aquatic/rCrustacia/AARVolume02/AARV02P05_04.jpg)
This is possibly the freakiest beast I have ever seen, the ones in the aquarium in Cape Town stand about 4 foot tall, and are not the biggest ever seen.
Also hermit crabs are not all members of the 60s band Herman's Hermits, although i believe one played the pea whistle for them on one single, after they found a pea crab was not up to the task.
-
thanks for the info! and the mini biology lesson - always nice to know the backgroud of your project name
did all the moves on it this morning (except the very last one) but its gonna hav to be a lot colder for the full thing - cant wait for autumn!

2 questions:
Is the was the hermits cave at cratcliffe ever occupied by a hermit crab?
and where is this pea crab traverse, i recognise the name but forget the location.
-
Trav's the lip of the block with Jetpack on it.
The cratcliffe cave was mostly inhabited by Herman and the Hermits during the late 60s.
-
oh bloody hell that thing.
was herman from herman's hermits hermen goering or herman munster?
-
while you are (vaguely!) on the subject, is there a trick to jetpack or do i just have to be stronger/thinner/try harder/get good at dynos
-
Throw really hard and spin anticlockwise. There is also a boreing static way to do it using a crimp out left
-
do i just have to be stronger/thinner/try harder/get good at dynos
no, it's bonjoy's prob
shit, got to go, gonna be late for magic wood :P

i pasted me feet on the ramp on the left on jetpack, one low and one quite high, then you'r facing sideways and can get a good swing into the back and then launch out. its a funny movement, did it twice like that couple o years ago, then this summer couldn't do it and was getting closer using some other more regular way. its basically a wierd knack type thing.
-
Jetpack would be a much better problem if the ground was a bit lower
-
maybe the BMC can get the ground dug out a bit, and use that soil the rebuild the deliverance landing.
-
got up at 5am this morning to get some chilly conditions, and then proceded to fall off the final rockover 3 times after doing 40 odd moves to get there. bugger
-
5am!!! christ that really is far too keen, especially for an arse-dragging lip traverse!
-
plus it means im knackered by 9am and considering going back to bed for the rest of the day.

Respect! Just like Roy Castle said " Dedication, dedication, dedication, that's what you need..."
-
...and keep off the fags.
-
i once met roy castle when i was about 8 or 9 years old.
Roy was on the ball with dedication, but if you had to choose a former record breakers presenter to get you psyched at the crag, fighting through the crux of a problem, it'd have to be kriss akabusi.
He's the most psyched individual on the face of the planet.

it's obviously invisible, but i would like to know what he's holding on to in that photo...
-
i would like to see kriss akabusi vs mr motivator vs rocky on a superstars special edition...
-
Is he not playing an invisible big base?
-
i recon he's filming bluescreen for the CGI version of singing in the rain - thats the lamppost.
-
or he's about to plunge cheryl baker into a devastating record breaking headlock. who's the daddy.
