Title: Bastard toolbar invasion
Post by: Carnage on July 25, 2005, 05:23:41 am
I got hit by a virus from some dodgy email and my McAfee didn't pick it up.    I've cleared the infected files but this thing has added an extra toolbar with a load of shit on it that I just can't get rid of.

Anyone got any ideas how to get shot of it? I'm guessing its some kinda spyware or something. Any free downloads etc or do I need to weigh some cash out for something?

Cheers.

Start by running Spybot: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

And Adaware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

If they can't remove it, they should at least pick it up and tell you what it is.
