Title: another mike adams problem
Post by: ferret on March 29, 2005, 09:51:29 pm
keep forgetting to post this
mike adams climbed "adults only" from the rightand side. basically start on righthand side of arete (codiderabbly lower than adults only because of the boulder) slap up arete with lefthand until you can make a wild cartweel move the break with the right hand. swing round and finish up adults only.
mike reckoned about 7c for this quality bit of climbing. how ever he was able to reach the sloping ramp for foot on AO, with this for your lefthand its a considerably harder move, at least one grade i would say.
the problem was dubbed "delusions of grandeur"

known to most as the photograph arete, or 'not breadline'.
Had a go at this low start wiv el mocho. Felt mighty hard without the long arms of the adams.

was pretty mental with the adams arms anyway. full on cartwheel to catch hold then muchos spinning about trying to hang on for dear life. bit of a heart stopper.
a repeat from a shorter fella would be very impressive
