Does anyone know where might be the best place to sell climbing books? EBay? My Dad’s at the point where he wants to get rid of them and I don’t really have the space.
He’s got some things I might try and hang on to (a full set of bound Mountain Magazines, a first edition copy of The Black Cliff) but there’s some more common titles.

I'd probably use on of the specific outdoor gear FB groups.

I've had success selling unwanted guides on ukc . Seems to be a few people selling large amounts of books there recently.

Jarvis books used to be the go-to for second hand mountaineering books, based in Buxton I think.
Edit: Matlock.Also might give you a clue on prices? If it's really 1st edition of Whymper SAtA that must be worth a few quid?

Scrambles Amongst the Alps is worth a lot more than Extreme Rock if it is a first edition.
I'm potentially interested in 50 Classic Climbs and Feeding the Rat.

A friend of my wife’s (not a climber) came to visit a few years ago and ended up staying in one of the spare rooms that has my climbing book collection in. Having looked at the above titles, but not the books themselves (alongside Classic/Hard/Extreme Rock), she ended up chatting to me the following morning about my “very niche” music books. Took me a while to work out what she was on about!
I’d be interested in Feeding the Rat if Duncan doesn’t have first dibs.

Cheers for replies. At the mo all the books are still down at my Dad’s so I’m not selling them anytime soon. Just researching the best way to go about it. Will resurrect this thread if/when I do.

Much as it's a pain to do, there are a few titles that are worth putting on ebay and letting people bid for them, posting links where required. You will just have to accept they may go to a stranger rather than someone you know and know will cherish them.
