Title: Hold breakage - Devon Sent
Post by: Jacobstraw4 on November 02, 2020, 10:41:03 am
Does anyone know if Devon Sent has had any ascents recently?

I put rope down it last week and there’s a patch of rock scarring about halfway up.

Watching the videos out there (Alex, Walker, Ted) it looks like they all get some kind of bobble with their right hand. This appears to no longer exist!

Any info would be appreciated. Trying to weigh up whether it’s worth another punt or not

Hi Jacob
I was with Solly, Ruby and Kyle when they tried it in the summer (mid-August possibly).  Solly dropped the top a few times.  The 'nipple' was still there, sounds like someone has broken it off?Not sure but I think it is doable without..

This is really shit news. You did stand on the peanut to do the finish so could have come off from that.

Hopefully not from people top roping it?

As an aside, how on earth was Solly dropping the top? It's a lot easier than the climbing before it.

The sequence I used won't work anymore (think its the same as Alex W uses on Youtube) but theres vids of people reaching a high LH before moving right that may still go?
