Is it possible to camp in N Wales from this weekend? Welsh Gov advice (https://gov.wales/coronavirus-regulations-guidance#section-44647) only says campsites with shared facilities may be opening from July 25th but that’s it.
Anyone know? Thanks.

Good topic, I don't know myself, will be interested to see the outcome.

Might ring Welsh tourism in the morning if no one knows.
Due to miscommunication now looking for a trad partner for Wales or the Lakes for a few days if anyone is interested! E1-E3 ish

You may have already seen Pembroke camping info on this thread (https://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/destinations/bosherston_campsites-722393) on UKC. Seems a promising sign for the camping situation more generally in Wales from this weekend...?
-
Thanks, no I had not seen that. Maybe the Vaynol is open without its shower block?

Typically the FM has announced updates on a Friday approx 12.30. A bunch of people were wild camping in the woods around PyB last weekend when I was walking through.
The ones in Ogwen were closed the other day. There's lots of caravans etc driving around though.

Thanks. I rang the Welsh Tourist Board who said Mark Drakeford had said campsites and accommodation with shared facilities can open from Saturday July 25.
So some return towards normality then. Newspaper report here

I know it isn't exactly what you were asking for, but Simon's Field at Bosherston (Pembroke) is open and the toilets are open for use.

Anyone been over / investigated more and know how busy North Wales sites are? Holyhead / Snowdonia in particular...
-
Camped at the caravan park in Rhosneigr last week. £7/night. Great if you like the roar of typhoons taking off from Valley.
-
Lol that sells it to me! Not too busy / pre-booked?
-
Id steer clear of any of the campsites in Snowdonia they're absolutely rammed at the minute. Parking down the ogwen and Llanberis is pretty dire at the minute as per but even worse.
-
Cheers. I saw on FB that you and the old man had been down on Gogarth - did you camp around there?
-
No I live in Menai bridge now so my folks just stayed with me. I'd assume it would be a little bit quieter over there on the camping side of things as its not quite as much as a hot spot as the pass and Ogwen. LOTS of vans near the RSPB center though so I could be wrong!

Its OK - Fiend has bought one of these bad boys so he can sneak in to caravan/camper only sites :D
