Pretty much what it says on the tin. Looking for something to use in the local woods/trails over winter but would be nice to know it could handle some time in the hills perhaps. Possibly a big ask?

Got one of these for 15 quid, not particularly light but very bright, and lasts quite a while. I have been running in it no probs, and bright enough for night time bouldering too

Maybe not quite budget but a lot of bang for your buck... Fenix HL60R.

Ive got a HL50 that the kids use for orienteering at night and the moan a bit that its not as bright as some there kids.. but again that might be because its a bit more of a flood rather than a spot.
Consider chest mount also for better definition of the ground infront of you.

I use a LED Lenser SEO7R. Battery life seems decent enough and it's bright enough for most off road running. Was happy enough with my first one to buy a second one so I can keep one in my climbing bag.

I always steal the expensive on partner bought when she did Illuminator, and has not really run at night since. It's a Petzl one, and while it's really good, it's pretty complicated with pressing and holding buttons to get various bulbs to switch on. Go to Decathlog and try out a few?

I've got a black diamond Ion; it's excellent. Tiny, light, decent pool of light. USB port to recharge. Seems to last a long time on one charge.

Personally I wouldn't run with anything less than 300 lumens if it's at all 'technical'. I currently have the Petzl Reactik+ which is only just bright enough. I can't really navigate on unfamiliar terrain with it.
The best one I've used for running is the Petzl Myo (370 lumens) though it takes batteries (pretty sure you can buy a rechargeable battery pack for it). It's really nicely balanced as the battery pack is on the back.
If I was looking at BD I would consider the Icon.
None of the above is 'budget' though. But they're a bit of kit that will last for a long time and if you're doing a fair amount of running you'll get a lot of use out of it.
