Title: Violent Death
Post by: Bubba on February 03, 2003, 10:05:28 am
Excuse my Monday morning morbitidy, but I was thinking about the recently blatted space shuttle....

Would it hurt? If it broke up at 12,500 mph, would you actually have enough time to think "oh fuckeroo!" or would you be dead before you realised something was wrong?

When I've crashed cars, bikes, etc I've always entrered a bizarre world of calm acceptance, and never really had any pain...until afterwards that is....

If it burned up on re-entry, then it might have been at an altitude where the astronauts maye have been suddenly de-pressurised and died instantly, but to be honest i know very little about these things, so christ knows.

did it shake itself to bits or did it burn up? I reckon you'd have a few seconds of knowing it was going pear shaped then it'd just go and that'd be yer lot. Nice.
