Title: Brushing
Post by: user deactivated on October 22, 2016, 06:35:57 pm
I was at the roaches today and had a rope on against the grain, I noticed it had been very heavily brushed to the detriment of the rock in some places. The coarse grit is quite fragile and it didn't really need it. Thought it was worth a mention.

I had a right rant at someone at Bowden the other week. We were on His Eminence and the bloke insisted on brushing the blown out, sandy start holds - before he'd even felt them. It hadn't even occurred to him that they hadn't always been the size of buckets. Two minutes later he walked up to captain haddock and set about it...

It looked like a wire brush had been used on against the grain. Poor old lichen didn't stand a chance.
