Up in Scotland for a week chilling out and attempting to climb while injured, yesterday we headed to the Ruthven boulder and after about an hour a bald head was visible in the distance approaching us. As he got closer low and behold it turned out to be the legend that is Gaskins. I managed to control myself and not get all fanboy in the presence of a total legend, he was with his wife and kids and I imagine he headed there to get away from people, not expecting a bunch of brummies dicking about. Really nice guy, as confused as the rest of us with the descriptions in the guide book! Worked a couple of problems with us as a warm up and then saw him working the low version of Dave McLeod's traverse on some disgustingly small crimps, he seemed to be making easy work of the moves.

Have you got any video evidence of him finishing anything?

The Ruthven boulder is really very good.

Like his lunch?

Good stuff, nice to hear he is still getting out on the rock. I always wonder if I would be able to keep my composure when faced with his shiny head or just bombard him with questions

Have you got any video evidence of him fishing ?
I can belive he's done those problems but I'd want to see pictures of those fish.

A legend is precisely what Gaskins is.
