Title: [geek query] - can I link two soundcards with firewire?
Post by: Bubba on July 14, 2004, 08:57:51 pm
Two of my PCs have got creative audigy 2 soundcards (one with the external box thang) - both have firewire ports.

I've only got one set of speakers, which are currently connected to one of the pcs.

Can I use a firewire cable to pipe the music from one soundcard to the card with the speakers attached?

I take it you specifically want it for the surround sound then as if not you could just use the auxillary port and the 3.5mm output on the back.

I cant see why you shouldn't be able to use firewire though.  I take it youve plugged them and tried it...?

Not tried it yet, because I'll have to get a dual 6pin firewire lead, which I don't just have lying about.
