Title: Foredale quarry
Post by: Shy Ted on August 10, 2013, 10:35:23 pm
Know it's a bit late but wad contemplating taking the gf to foredale quarry tomoro. Loads of long starred routes so it looks good. Just read summat bout it being off limits. Is this still the case or have things simmered down a bit?

Having been once pre-ban I can testify that the stars were on a very generous scale. No great loss.

The crux of a "2 star" route I did was not pulling a microwave-sized block onto your belayer as you mantled to the lower-off.

The people who did actually go there were seemingly incapable of parking or walking in according to the numerous BMC signs, hence the ban. Depressingly familiar scenario. There were rumours a different approach may have been possible via. CROW land but I never heard anything concrete. Not worth the effort anyway imo.

Very good. Hope it was deliberate.
