Could anyone tell me which year both of these films were made? I think it was SC first and then SoTN a couple of years later? Both put together by Dan H? Or did Tom do the film editing/production as well?
Or was there something else that preceded this??
Ta.

Consumed fits in somewhere along the line too, no idea which order though.
consumed .mp4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYIvX5vNA6s#)
Perhaps whoever is uploading the vids on YouTube would know?

My undestanding, but I don't know where it came from, was that it went.
SC, consumed then shock of the new
I think this comes from Dans audio commentry on consumed. which you can access if you have the DVD. It's really good.

Hmmm, I thought Consumed was the most recent...
I went to the "premier" of Consumed and it was, if I remember correctly, while I was living in Preston. Which would mean it was somewhere '01-'03. SC will have been (very?) late 90's I think??
As far as I know Dan edited them all but I think Tom did get involved a bit and I think he provided some film (a weird bit of a fly in a box or something )
I'm sure Tom will be along at some point with actual useful answers (or Doylo or Tanners? I think they both we're on the scene for the later films??)

There's a fair bit of info in the commentary on one of the DVDs, can't remember which.
-
I think consumed was 03 but I could be mistaken.
-
Brilliant, I hadn't seen consumed before.

What the hell! I had it on continuous play for over a year once. Worth seeking out the dvd or torrent just for Dan's commentary.

Cool, thanks for the info so far everyone. Perhaps Tom will come and confirm a few of those details. I really wasn't sure about the 90s/00s threshold....
-
90% sure that AFBSC is the tagline for Consumed. 100% sure SOTN is first.

shock of the new, a film by some climbers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3DTXq289wk#)
Red helmet=1999
White helmet=2000
White helmet in Yorkshire=2001
I think Dan got the VHS tapes made up in summer 01. Special white cassettes usually used for weddings.
Consumed would have been 03 if it had weird flies in boxes.
All filmed and produced by Dan.

Consumed definitely 03, there's a shot of me in it in the bakery at the top of Dan's road and I only climbed with him in 2003. All amazing films.
-
Hi Nige. That's useful knowledge. What did you get from the bakery and was it any good?

Thanks for info everyone. Thanks for confirming specifics Tom :-)
Now how do I reference a UKB thread in my BMJ article... ;)

Ten years ago. We'll be dead soon.....

If by BMJ you mean the British Medical Journal (not aware of a British Mountaineering Journal) then the authors instructions state (http://group.bmj.com/products/journals/instructions-for-authors/formatting#references)
Electronic citations
Websites are referenced with their URL and access date, and as much other information as is available. Access date is important as websites can be updated and URLs change. The "date accessed" can be later than the acceptance date of the paper, and it can be just the month accessed. See the 9th edition of the AMA Manual of Style for further examples.

Sorry........ should have put a different emoticon up. I was being silly. Apologies!
Thanks for the reference though.

Don't worry took <1 minutes to find, copy & paste.

does any one have a copy of the "third film" mentioned in the audio commentary of Consumed?
thanks

I'm not sure it was released as an 'official' some climbers movie but someone (Tom / Dan?) put a load of footage online as "someclimbersnewshit" which did the rounds on a popular file sharing website some time ago. I've got a copy if you want but I think most of it is already on the crimperE6 youtube channel.
