OK guys and gals, don't all shout out the answers at once - some of these photos are scanned from old OTEs, so I'm hoping the owners will waive copyright in the spirit of promoting the work of the BMC.
I'm busy at work now so won't be posting up answers as they come in, you'll have to just peer-assess this shit:

somethimg about signs on the rock? turkey dip/almscliff have some "no climbing" literature.
-
25 Tremadoc?
I think 25 is Shepherds Crag. Had another idea for the link, but just realised it was likely as rubbish as the last guess.
-
Yes it is, which means the 26 link is Christmas/Nativity? Angel, Virgin, Shepherds, erm Clifftop.
-
Bingo nai (though one more aerial shot in the list needed.
re cliff top - according to Dave - "you cant have christmas without a bit of Cliff Richard"
shirley Dove Crag would have been more apt.
-
I took it to mean Cliff at the top of the charts, which is rather good.
-
Ah, just got the guide out to see if it's actually known as something else (Durwood Tor) and was hoping it wasn't as tenuous as the description: "a small crown of grit".
-
I thought Moon was the King of Crookrise after the infamous competition?

-
shirley Dove Crag would have been more apt.
What have doves got to do with xmas? Jesus didn't crash that night at an aviary.
I was going to have the pudding stone as a google earth question, problem is its hardly notable from above.

I'm sure Cliff has more of a cultural impact in the modern xmas than doves. How many xmas number ones has a dove had in your lifetime? Fuckall, thats how many.

At the risk of doing Dave's job for him, I can tell you that you were right vis-a-vis Q3 earlier. I am seriously regretting not having you in to bolster our team now!
Oh, and the above for no.14 is correct too.
-
13 thought Dave had said Marc Le Menestrel was incorrect
I don't think he did, cos that's who it is!
-
Damn right - one of the few I was 100% sure of...I had that photo on the wall of room in halls in my first year at university!
-
13 thought Dave had said Marc Le Menestrel was incorrect
I don't think he did, cos that's who it is!
Sorry, my mistake, it was Pete Gomersall/Mike Lea where he said keep guessing.
-
Eagle eyed readers may notice that the mark le menstrual photo was actually published backwards in the mag.
-
16 Pretty sure Rheinstor is one of them. No longer have a copy to check any others.
Correct. The easy one is Birchen.
-
I'd guess at the other two being Windgather and Harborough?
-
nope.
-
Newstones?
-
I can almost guarantee one of the On Peak Rock answers you won't have heard of.....I know I hadn't.
-
One quarried, one not. Both limestone.
-
Was I right with the Moon King?
-
Yes.
-
Ah, Earl Sterndale/Alderly Cliff?

Duma was right - it's Pickford
Well of course. I'm rather disappointed in the others lack of faith in me.
-
I have a lack of faith in you getting the last in the 'picnics' section. :jab:
-
and rightly so - I only reply to the ones I'm damn sure about, which in this quiz was Marc le Menestral, sadly someone else already answered that. Luckily for me shark added the pickford question.
-
So are we now looking for a natural limestone crag that Dave's never heard of?
-
Think Staffs, not much to climb, but nice location.
-
The only staffs limestone I can think of would be on the far bank of the River Dove - Ilam Rock, Dovedale Church, Ravenstor. But Dave's made his anti-Dove stance very clear so hardly worth considering
-
I don't think Dave's anti - Dove, just that he doesn't think doves have anything to do with Christmas. The crag has 3 words in it's name.
-

One of the Celestial Twins in the Manifold Valley? Not sure which one has climbing on.
The only Manifold crag I remember in On Peak Rock was Beeston Tor, but that was in Classic Limestone or Winter Warmth. And it would be shite for a picnic.
-
Yey. The left one in fact.
