Post by: neil h on September 23, 2012, 11:25:38 am
Wife has just got a new job in germany, less than an hour from winterberg, just want to know if anyone has ridden there, see if its worth me taking my bike one weekend

Unless you have to carry the bike there by hand, it's always worth to have it.
I mean, how bad can that place be for one day?

I was in the town years ago. Its pretty wooded and hilly round there. I read an article on the bike park somewhere, some of the tracks are pretty tech and there are loads of roots. The standard of riding will probably be pretty high as all the Germans at Lac Blanc were ripping. Lets face it, lift assisted riding out of season would  have to be pretty shit not to warrant a couple of hours driving.

Also, I guess your wife must be working somewhere like Dortmund, Dusseldorf or Cologne. These cities (indeed any city in the Rhur/Nord Rhein) are not really the most exciting places to spend a weekend.
