The build of the new Depot is almost complete - with just the branding and matting to finish. The image above shows the middle section of the comp wall situated just in front of the reception and Cafe. We are really pleased with how its turned out and I think we can safely say its a world-class bouldering centre. Apart from the huge comp wall we have loads of room for circuit problems on a fantastic range of angles - easily providing well over 250 problems across the grades. Training wise we have a massive circuit board with one loop giving 28m of climbing over a gentle angle change. Beastmaker have provided the holds for both the 30 degree symmetrical board and the 45 degree random board - both these boards are big. You can expect all the best holds from Core, HRT, EP, Lapis, Holdz and such like.
The Depot has loads of free parking and is really easy to access via public transport - the website will go live shortly with all the relevant details. We are keeping folks up to date via http://www.facebook.com/thedepot.nottingham

When's a possible opening date?
-
We are aiming for the first week in October or soon after - we are just waiting on a delivery date for the matting. Everything else will be complete by this time next week.

Probably will be ready for opening on Tuesday morning 11am....

and the website?

Had a quick look from the outside the other day whilst I was supposed to be at work. Class looking building, and you can see the walls sticking over the top of the windows. Looks good and it's under 10mins walk from my nottingham office.

As it stands we should be open for business on Tuesday morning 11am. The centre is complete with the exception of the matting which is due for installation this weekend. The website is about ready to launch and it should be live in time for opening. Essentially we are going for a soft opening with a opening event coming a couple of weeks later.
Rich d - if you are passing anytime in the next couple of days you are welcome to take the tour - just knock on the door.
Nice one

You should put that hook and pulley tackle into your logo.

Or get Newman to recreate this classic picture of ramonet...

Well everyone the guys from Core have done the business and got our matting in place and we are now opening the doors tomorrow evening at 5pm. Really pleased with the finished article its even better than we expected.
The website should be live in the next day or two but its worth checking our facebook page for updates.
Thanks for the support

Just been shown round. Was really impressed. Loads of steepness and angles. The training area looks really good with some lovely wooden holds. There seems to have been lots of thought go into the details to make it a really good training venue. Looking forward to climbing/falling there on Friday night.

I went.
Some really nice problems set in circuits. Pleasingly tricky, thoughtful and imaginative setting on lots of problems. The walls aren't clogged with holds -- they seem to have gone for quality rather than quantity.
Nice venue - atmospheric.
Nice guys on desk.
Nice traversing wall
Shitloads of training options if you're less fat than me.
Nice vibe - busy/friendly, but not too packed.
Pity it's too far to go every week. I have other opinions about alter rock, Derby (my mid-week local wall) which I should prob keep to myself.
cheers guys

Going to trek over from Liverpool en masse on sat after looking at the forecast! Looks boss.

The competition bouldering league thing is on too, some really good problems (not that I can comment on any of the harder ones)
