Alright, is there anyone out there with ny knowledge of Sheffield area podiatrists? I've got post tibial tendon dysfunction (PTTD) and am getting pretty sick of it. Its a spin off from an ankle fracture 18 months ago and NHS physio isn't really cutting the mustard, it'd be good to see someone more specialist, if nothing else they can hopefully tell me whether or not I need "special shoes"! Cheers gang :)

I've recommended patients try this place based above accelerate in Attercliffe. They have all been pleased with their care I've sent a couple of runners with similar issues. I'm told Jess Ennis's podiatrist works there.

They have physio and podiatry. I generally tell my patients to go private for physio especially if it's sports related as the NHS can't meet the demands that serious athletes put on their bodies.

Cheers, I'll have a look. Thanks for the tip off.

I definately think you need special shoes.

I hear lots of good things about the Gait Garage in Hathersage.

Be wary of being talked into spending gazillions on 'custom' made/moulded/fitted carbon fibre insoles. Had Plantar Fasciitis quite badly and physio suggested an appointment with a podiatrist. He tried to talk me into parting with hundreds for these carbon fibre things. Turns out a pair of 'super feet' insoles were more than adequate and haven't had a problem since (touch wood).
(mind you - I know nowt of your condition and you may be best following your podiatrists advice...oh hang on).
