Title: Font to CdG Driving time?
Post by: andy popp on June 28, 2012, 02:29:32 pm
Anyone know how roughly how long it takes to drive from Font to Charles de Gaulle. Trying to work out how early I'd have to get up to make 10.40 am flight home?

90 mins, if you avoid peripherque and go round to the east in the motorway.
Same if u go peripherque unless u hit rush hour.

P.S thats from Milly so u could knock a bit off. Plus I'm not quick driver!

I'd agree with that.  Go font > melun > A5 > francilienne (A104) - complicated nav, roadworks make it a bit confusing, don't stay on the A4 too long into Paris!

Warning: you might think that getting up at 5am and leaving at 6am will make it quiet and so you'd just go on the regular motorway route (A6 etc.)  This is not true.  It's well busy during the week.

our flight was at 1pm, so we set off at 10am

Saturday should be quieter early in the morning, although don't have direct experience at that time.  It's actually pretty easy to follow the Francilienne heading north as I think it's signposted to CdG the whole way, it's a right bastard to follow it coming south.

Saturday morning is usually quieter. Which Saturday? There are plenty of school holidays that could seriously add some time on.
