Post by: yorkshireman on May 22, 2012, 11:15:52 pm

They've also released an app covering both 5+6's and 7+8's. Although at the moment it has limited content, it looks like it'll be good when fully populated. (Assuming you want lists of problems, rather than maps and pics of course.)

I have a copy of the guide, it's very nice,  the only real differences from the 7+8's is that it's in full colour. And I can do some of the problems. Maybe.
The paper is matte rather than silky which works really well for the maps and text but less well for the photos.

iAnd the 5+6 7+8 app seems to be iphone only which is a major downside for me :worms:

Just got my copy - comprehensive, but very dry.

Not much in the way of pre-trip psyche to be gained from flicking through the pages, unlike the Peak guide which is beautiful to flick through and excites me even on my train in to work...

Still, not going to run out of problems to try

Not in this lifetime, and probably not the next. Is it justifiable to buy a 4th font guide?

The maps are fantastic, but you'll have to buy a 5th when the second part comes out.

The latest update for the App includes all the problems in the 5+6 guide but is £3.99. I got it as it's a great way of building a ticklist...

Hopefully by the time I can think about actually going to Font again they will have got their act together and brought out an Android version of the app.  :spank:

Have you only got 3? I thought it was like bikes, the correct number to have is N+1 where N is the number you have currently.

I always liked the caveat that it could also be written as S-1 where S is the number that would result in separation from your partner.

I've only just noticed that the 5+6: West & North guide was finally published back in April.

Cheapest online I've seen: https://psychi.co.uk/font-bouldering-2.html

Along with the new new 7&8.

Edit. Didn't realise it had been out that long. Took me two years to get a copy.

I think the guides are 25 euros each at camping les pres at grez.
