I'm trying to decide between either getting a weight vest or a weight belt. :strongbench: So can anyone of you chaps offer advice on what you use and any links to buy something would be great as well, I've been looking at this:
http://www.ko-sports.com/product/63358 (http://www.ko-sports.com/product/63358)
But I'm thinking it would restrict my breathing possibly?
-
Think you might be right about the breathing. I sometimes use a 6kg belt. It's a divers "pocket" type, which is more comfortable than a "threaded" type. I don't usually climb in it, just for pull ups, press ups and some finger boarding.
-
I have a vest and had no problems with it.
I think it's better than the belt for the load distribution.
-
Malc can be found at the Glasgow wall with a similar vest on, crushing 8as with 17kg! :strongbench:
Doesn't seem like it restricts his breathing!

:agree:

You seem to see more vests around thesedays. I once used a belt and I'm pretty sure it was responsible for a lower back injury. Plus, if you lose body weight, you don't just lose it from around your waist do you, so maybe there's something in that if you're trying to replicate what it really feels like to be 10Kg heavier..
-
i only have a broken belt that i use for campusing, but i think having it wrapped around my feet is even better than anywhere else cause it stops you from flicking them too much
-
I've been doing pull ups with a 20kg 6yr old on my back...
That works, as long as they don't giggle too much.

Depends whether you're trying to simulate (a) a heavy trad rack, or (b) being fat.
(Holding a 25kg dumbell between your ankles is desperate, I don't particularly recommend that)

OK, thanks for replies guys! Just need to go search out a weight vest now! Ah the joy of my Christmas present... A weight vest and harmonica... :dance1:
Any tips on places to get a decent one?

So do these chaps,
