I heard that there is going to be a Cotswold Bouldering Guide book.....so whens it out?? someone at the warehouse in Gloucester said it was this month?
any one know??
-
Who's publishing and are they (or any of their mates) regular posters here?
-
don't know just thought someone on here would be in the know?
-
sorry you lost me there, I was interested in this guide book on bouldering nothing more. is that what forums are for sharing information??? or is it a commerical venture only!!
-
Its simple - these and the chalkbucket post look suspiciously like deliberate attempts at a bit of viral marketing. You might well be innocent and unconnected but you're not helped by the fact it took an incredibly simple search to find out that its out today. So there's the answer and an amazing coincidence!
-
cheers for that, someone said it might be very soon, heading down there for a weekend soon and thought it could be worth checking out the area.

Either that's one amazing piece of chutzpah or you really are completely innocent.

Well he has posted exactly the same question on UKC (http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?n=484408&v=1).
Personally I'd have been asking whoever I heard the rumor from in the first place, but then I'm weird like that. :geek:

On a related note, does anyone know where I can buy Andy Kirkpatrick's new book Cold Wars (http://www.v-outdoor.co.uk/products/climbing-mountaineering/andy-kirkpatrick-cold-wars-signed-copies.php)?
-
How would I know? I just want to know where I can buy it (http://www.v-outdoor.co.uk/products/climbing-mountaineering/andy-kirkpatrick-cold-wars-signed-copies.php).

This morning cotswold bouldering sounded interesting. Now we all know the truth... the power of viral marketing eh!

With problems as highball as those, it gives their pads a ringing endorsement. Sign me up!
-
I love this thread. The power of viral marketing and forums.
-
It covers in detail, the 2 known venues and 5 "new" locations, with over 70 problems and as many black & white photos. It's printed on recycled paper and is reproduced at a pocket friendly £6.99 + £1.50 post and packing.
Paperback (488pp) £25.00
This guide features over 3,300 boulder problems on over 70 crags, both major and minor
10pence per problem versus 0.75pence?
-
Cotswold Guide sounds good.
But does anyone know where I could get something more selective. I'm looking for no more than 3,200 problems on 180 venues. I'm in no hurry. !2th December would do.
-
Whats that saying, "There's no such thing as bad press" or similar?
(And rather than being in "the log pile", shouldn't this be in "the spam pile"?)

Well...
I suppose I do, now, know about the guide(s).
So, no; no such thing...

It's a hard bouldering project at Font' 6c+ too.
I'm relocating to Cocksworld to be a bouldering God
-
Now you're all just being mean!
-
I heard on the original version you couldnt use the small crimps or the heel hook and it was a classic 7c.
-
I would say something dumb at this point...
But I'm in too much pain after injuring my back; falling on my chalk bag...

How much per problem? What's the going rate these days?
-
To you, sailor, two bob.
-
For a second I thought this was Big Golden, but no, it's in the Cotswolds!

I did, but these bargain-basement problems might not be good value, surely quality comes at a price?
-
Can anyone tell me the percentage of problems in this book which involve a bat hang?
Also, why haven't the Copley brothers been given a credit for this guide? this has their scent all over it.
-
Have you been sniffing them Dob??
Someone please PM Shappers and ask him to reply to sidewinder's outing :D
-
Bubba gave me a telling off about the term "spam pile", said it would just encourage more spam. :spank:
Could rename it the "The processed pork in a can pile" :P

I'll refer back to this thread next time someone slags off Lancashire for being shit!!

I'd stay in Lancs if I were you, doesn't look like these problems can be done by lank method.

Hi, can anyone suggest a good quality T-shirt please. Going to The Cotswolds bouldering, for a month and will need to take plenty of clothes. Have only seen vests so far, as my local shop doesn't stock any others. I like the look of the BaseCubic T-shirt, but only seen photographs on the net. Any thoughts?
Thanks.
