Title: Another Blackamoor Dig Day
Post by: john horscroft on November 01, 2011, 03:22:09 pm
This just in from Henry Norman at Ride Sheffield:

Saturday the 5th of November. From 10am onwards.......

Given the success of the last couple of dig days up on Blacka, we have been asked to help out again...

This time we are going to be working on the permissive bridleway that runs from stoney ridge car park down to piper house gate.

This is the route that was threatened with "motorwaying"earlier in the year. Thanks to our lobbying and the wildlife trust being great, it is to remain singletrack! It will be a permissive bridleway that bikes can use too. But in order to keep it up to scratch a little work is needed to be done on a couple of the sections that get a bit soggy

Thats where we come in

Meet up at stoney ridge car park at ten, stay for as long as you like (work usually goes on till about 3pm), snacks are usually provided, but you might want to bring lunch if you are staying all day

Any help is always appreciated, even if you stop for 20 mins as part of your ride

Thanks

Ride Sheffield

Great turn out today by the Sheff MB community, more riders than you could shake a stick at.  Crap weather didn't help with trail repairs but some of the muddier sections have been filled while retaining the shape of the track.  Be good to get some feedback from anyone who rides it.
