Title: Mowing Word Major Access Gain
Post by: duncan on September 13, 2011, 09:24:06 am
The historical access restrictions to Mowing Word have been lifted as seabirds have failed to nest there in the last few seasons.  Not good news for the Auks but great news for climbers.  This is an excellent crag with some fine middle-grade routes like Heart of Darkness (HVS), Sealhunt (E1), Chimes of Freedom, Charenton Crack (both E2) and the classic Diedre Sud (HS) and it is a real gain to have year-round access.  Thanks to the National Trust and the Countryside Council for Wales for their flexibility.
