Sorry if this is being covered elsewhere on't forums but I wanted to draw attention to the petition to stop the proposed sell-off of various Forestry Commission forest areas.
The issue is that if sold there's no guarantee that public access would be maintained, which could be a disaster for mountain bikers, walkers, anyone who wants to push a pram about or just enjoy a bit of peace and quiet. Also, indescriminate industrial tree cutting without replanting would be bad for red squirrels and their woodland pals...
Even if you're none of the above I feel that if a voicing of disapproval isn't made then what happens if a tract of land is threatened which contains some awesome blocs?
The online petition is here:

Already in this subforum here (http://ukbouldering.com/board/index.php/topic,16934.0.html) and a thread in Shooting the Shit with more discussion (http://ukbouldering.com/board/index.php/topic,16898.0.html).
Search function on the forums isn't brilliant, you should use Google to do a site specific search (second bulletted item on that help page) (http://www.google.com/support/websearch/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=136861).
