Anyone know where you can get this kind of thing in Sheffield?
http://www.geologysuperstore.com/product/grain-size-card-1562 (http://www.geologysuperstore.com/product/grain-size-card-1562)
Need a portable 30m tape too.
Or I'll just order one.
Cheers.

If (i'm guessing) this is part of a University Course, the University may well have a load of them bought in bulk?
Of course these may be more expensive than the link you posted, if the lecturers are developing a beer slush fund for when the enevitable job cuts come ;)

Unless they are going to charge you £25 delivery I'd get a couple of those cards ordered online, you'll probably waste hours failing to find one locally, unless there is a local Rocks 'r Us store I don't know about.
Machine mart (bottom of London Rd) for Stanley 30m (or 60m) tapes...

or ask nicely and you can borrow mine as long as I get it back sometime. ;)

Not a university course, although I'm getting support from them as an Alumnus.
Nice tape link.

University of Leicester do some awesome grain size cards. i have one that is opaque and amazing. I want a grain size card with an inbuilt SEM, do they exist? Failing that, one that can bosh out a quick gamma and resistivity log, get some porosities and darcies on the go whilst in the field.
eep, just looked at your link, order that one, it's the bollocks.

i've got one from my uni days (just found it under my desk in a field bag) and it's almost identical to your linked one there. Except that mine doesn't say Leicester Uni on it.
What they Do have in common though is the following:
GEO Supplies Ltd, Chapeltown, Sheffield, S30 4XH
they have since moved to Station Road, Chapeltown S35
