Title: Carrock conditions
Post by: JamieG on December 21, 2010, 02:03:34 pm
Was hoping to pop in for a visit on my way North on thursday. Does anyone know what conditions are like up there? Can you even get along the road to it? Cheers for any knowledge.

Beautiful today, like walking through a Christmas card.
Check out "Wide Screen" while you are up there. Nice old-school lowball traverse. Nice enough to be worth keeping clean.

Lovely weather there today. Unfortunately many boulders had fresh snow on them. Managed to get on the arete boulder and mile high wall. Beautiful scenery though. Chilly too.

Word up that Carrock is fucking phenomenal at the moment. Lots of things clean apart from the odd snowy top-out, and great "connies" (bletch). Take wellies or high boots if you're going up the hillside, although the snow does make linking the boulder-hops a bit easier I think.
