There dont seem to be any resin holds on the market which are anything like as skin friendly as wood. However i like to train on pockets. Anyone have experience of sanding resin holds down?

Sounds like you need one of one of these (http://www.beastmaker.co.uk/products1.htm) (note also the items pipeline).
Or just buy some wood and shape your own.

Sanding resin holds is fine (try not to breathe in to much dust!) and can give a reasonable texture. I used to have a load of custom sanded down (on a on a band or disk facer) and carved rockworks holds that were better, and nicer to use than many of the standard ones.

Cheers guys. I have a BM2k and quite a few wooden holds. However, making good wooden pockets is well beyond my ability and I cant wait for the BM boys to make their holds.
Andy B - i guess hand sanding with sandpaper wont make much of an impact?

I guess it could be done, but you may fuck your elbows in the process. If you're limited for tools, clamp the hold down, borrow someone's power drill and get hold of a grinding bit. This will get into the edges of a pocket better than sanding anyway.
