Title: Campsite for the Bank Holiday weekend
Post by: sidewinder on May 18, 2010, 03:32:43 pm
Anyone got any recommendations (that they are willing to share) of somewhere within about 5hrs drive of Nottingham that will not be too rammed and is near climbing, bouldering/trad/sport.  Even after peak recommendations.  I will be camping, but if it was somewhere my parents could also park/pitch up with there new camper that would be even better.  At the moment I was thinking of Eric Byne's but obviously that is not so good for my parents.

Thanks in advance.

Been ages since I stayed there, buy the Birchover Camping is quite nice

Walking distance to Robin Hood's Stride and Cratcliffe too.

Guess it might be pretty busy on Bank Holiday, but no first hand experience of it.

I've stayed here on a couple of Bank Holidays and it's never been too rammed, it's very close to Gogarth and it would be nice for non-climbers too.  There were definitely vans and I think caravans too the last time I was there.
