ULTIMATE OUTDOORS BOULDERING COMP
The 2nd Ultimate Outdoors Bouldering Comp will again be held in Plas-y-Brenin. However this time it will be on Saturday 17th January 2004, when hopefully it will be raining, after last years sunny day we had.
Still we had a good turn out and those that came all enjoyed the day. This year it will run along the same lines, however the categories are slightly different with the open comp and then the under eighteen comp, men and ladies in both. Also there will be spot prizes for some problems, a fun comp for juniors in the morning, (10am till 12pm, under 15's) and a live DJ.
The main action starts at 1pm till 5pm, with a time limit on the problems. The presentation of the prizes will be at 6pm, a small break then before 8pm when the lecture starts. The theme of the lecture will be the ascent of Everest, by Kieron MacKenzie, from Mountain Equipment. The Bouldering problems will be set by Fay Edwards and Ian Vickers.
The main prize for the open comp is a free trip to Font for both first man and woman.
+ Everyone that enters gets a free chance to win a place to go with the winners.
Although the competition is in its second year here in North Wales, our new shop in Keswick will also be running a comp on 28th Feb 2004 to give you another chance to enjoy the fun and win some prizes. Watch our web page for more info when we have it!

Will there be more problems than last year?
Cheers

We are indeed planning on having more problems than last year, along with some more complex problems for people who would like more of a challenge

Anyone coming down for this one?
I remember last year it was quite fun- they gave us 20% discount at Ultimate Outdoors (which well paid for itself) and there was a good atmosphere. If I remember Ben Moon turned up- as did Mark Katz and Danny Cattel who completely mopped the place up. I did some problems (There were only about 6 in the comp) then went to the RAC boulders and the Pass for some more bouldering, then turned up again to see who won at the end.
So will I see anyone? :D

I`m coming, and I`ve got the Sunday off, so I`m getting pissed after to celebrate my victory. Anyone else up for a pint?
