Title: Parking probs at Shaftoe
Post by: jdal on March 26, 2010, 05:00:07 pm
From the NMC site:

"It has been brought to our attention that there has been some inconsiderate parking at Shaftoe Crag.
As a consequence the Farmer has requested that climbers do not park near the lake (marked as ‘Limited Parking’ in the Bouldering Guide) but on the right immediately after the cattle grid before going down the hill.

This is a private road and vehicular access is a privilege not a right.

Please respect the Owners wishes and drive and park responsibly."

And to add to that, the farmer there is a decent bloke and was relaxed about climbing on his land a long time before it became CROW Access land. And don't forget to go very slowly past the cottages and not reverse along at 40 mph like some fuckwit did.  Allegedly.

nice, again he is a nice bloke we often go there late at night and make sure we only use side lights past the houses.  It would be a tragic loss if we lost access to the road all together and having to park on the main road and walking anouther 10 minutes.
