Title: S.Lakes or Yorkshire forecast for friday...
Post by: tomtom on February 24, 2010, 09:53:56 pm
negotiating friday off at the moment, and have the option of S.Lakes (Kentmere probably) or Yorkshire/Cliff? but the forecast is looking unpredictable/shite. Any local thoughts/beta/interpretation of upcoming weather? Or should I rely on my traditional methods?

Fuckety fuck fuck. Just seen a useful forecast - above looks like an irrelevant question. Its a UK wide clag/piss fest. Arse.

Kentmere takes a while to dry (except Badger's Cock and the Garburn), so I wouldn't personally risk it.

You'll want something quick drying.
Warton/Trowbarrow may be OK (depending what grade you crush).
Thorn will be OK if there's no snow.
Cobble may be OK?
Langdale is another option.

Good tips  - thanks, whats the score with Warton/Trowbarrow? (I'm a 'can work a 7a if on form and theres a strong tail wind' kind of punter..) Kentmere is always good as its near my parents (and Wilfs) and I have some unfinished business with Badger arete...

Though the copius raft of blue over 90% of the UK for fridays forecast didnt look encouraging. This may mean another trip to plastic instead..  :(

Trowbarrow and Warton are ace, but maybe not that much until you get above 7a.  Dry quick though.
Badger's dries very quickly too so you may be OK- get that arete done!
