I suspect it'll be his newly launched biography, but I'm sure you can ask for something else if that doesn't float your boat...

I reckon he could do Harry Potter better than Stephen Fry.

Wonder how the new site owners feel about people advertising on here? :)

I've paid before, and I'd be happy to pay again :-)
I try to keep my advertising fairly low key.
Hope it doesn't offend.

Have you not seen it before?

It's a Megawoosh viral video, I think it was for German Microsoft or something.

Just confirmed: Car Boot Sale at ShAFF

Actually, like a car boot sale, but based on what can be fitted into a rucksack, this sale of outdoor kit will take place throughout the weekend in Screen 5. Transactions will be cash-only (there are planty of cash machines nearby).

If you are intersted in selling at the event please contact us ASAP.

Post by: MattH on February 24, 2010, 03:48:47 pm
The Sheffield Adventure Film Festival is back. Showcasing the best adventure films from the past year, as well as adding a couple of newbies to the mix, ShAFF is really beginning to summit the festival arena.

Split into 2 hour slots specific to their genre (such as Climbing, Mountains, and Adrenaline), a total of 44 films and 24 premieres will be shown over the course of three days. Add live music, photo exhibitions, book readings, and a kit sale to this and you can really appreciate the enormity of it all.

Now 6 years old and with a 100% approval rating in the first 5, this year’s festival is surely a non miss.

ShAFF 2010 will be held at the Showroom Cinema, Sheffield between the 12th and 14th March.

Check out the trailer: http://www.shaff.co.uk/content/11/watch-trailer (http://www.shaff.co.uk/content/11/watch-trailer)

... with a 100% approval rating ...

What does this mean?
Title: Re: ShAFF 2010 - Adventure Films on the Big Screen
Post by: grumpycrumpy on February 24, 2010, 06:39:21 pm
It means that it has a  100 % approval rating .......  ::)

What, 100% of the people who paid to go to the event approved of it happening? or 100% of people asked approved of the way it was organised?
Title: Re: ShAFF 2010 - Adventure Films on the Big Screen
Post by: grumpycrumpy on February 24, 2010, 07:15:43 pm
In the first five 100% of  everyone approved of everything   ......

I remember being given a feedback questionnaire afterwards, or maybe it was an online one, can't remember the questions either but I assume its taken from the completed questionnaires.

Everyone who approved did so with 100% positivity.  :P

It actually means the first 5 minutes were fully approved by the person who rated it you dumb asses.
Title: Re: ShAFF 2010 - Adventure Films on the Big Screen
Post by: MattH on February 25, 2010, 09:00:51 am
It means that over the 5 years of running ShAFF we've collected between 300 and 400 completed feedback forms at each festival, and each time, 100% of those who filled them in answered the questions: 'would you come again' and 'would you recommend it to a friend' positively.

Nice one for clearing that up Matt. Approval Rating is such an abusable term that alarm bells start ringing in my paranoid mind as soon as I see it.

Just saw this, that CANNOT be real surely?

If so it is fucking mental, you've either got to be extremely confident in your calculations, or completely off your rocker to attempt something like that!

The Honnold movie is not, as far as I am aware, available to buy. However we are investigating the possibility of producing a Best Of ShAFF DVD after this year's festival and may well be talking to the producers about including it. However that's not to say that they would agree. The film is one of 6 that Sender have produced for the National Geographic Channel and I am not sure when they are due to be screened, and what sort of restrictions they will have. Watch this space.
